The LECOM chapter of CPNP is a professional society that strives to promote the specialty of neurological and psychiatric pharmaceutical practice, research, and excellence. Our mission is to defeat the stigma associated with mental illness, to make a positive impact on mental health and wellness in the local community, and to raise awareness about this unique and under-served population. This organization’s purpose is to apply specialized clinical knowledge and skills, educate and train pharmacists, and to develop new knowledge in order to improve health outcomes for individuals with psychiatric and neurological disorders.
CPNP offers Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine Bradenton pharmacy students the opportunity to develop personal and technical perspectives associated with the psychiatric and neurological profession while pursuing the pharmacy program. Membership includes resources for professional development in the psychiatric and neurological pharmaceutical sciences, resources on board certification and education, access to residency and fellowship information, leadership and collaboration opportunities through executive board and committee service, and involvement through community programs associated with psychiatric and neurological pharmacy. There are opportunities to participate in and learn from community service, fundraising, networking, guest speakers, workshops, Script Your Future and mental health awareness events, as well as regional and national events.
